Cleft Lip and Palate Surgery and Post-Treatment

One in every 600 children is born with a cleft and will never be able to eat or speak properly and are usually abandoned by their own parents at birth.
Since 2007, we've teamed up with The Smile Train and various hospitals around the world to change the lives of children through life-changing cleft-lip or palate surgery and post-surgical therapy. Instead of sending doctors on two-week missions, the work we fund with The Smile Train trains local doctors and provide them with tools to change lives after American surgeons leave. Using state-of-the-art technology and communication, surgeries can preformed in less than 45 minutes and for as little as $250, thanks to our generous donors, volunteer surgeons, and supporters. Summer Smile Train Read-A-ThonEach year, kids around the world participate in our annual Summer Smile Train Read-A-Thon, funding life-changing cleft surgeries and treatments for children around the world.
